Originally erected adjoining St Philip's Anglican Church. The memorial was moved to the Tariki School grounds when the church was demolished in 1970. (See article TH 3 March 1970 in Documents below) It was moved again to its present site alongside the hall in 1990s(?) after the school was closed and sold to private owners.
