Tarata Memorial Flag
"In 1916 Messrs Ible [E J Ible] and Blackbourne [J Blackburne] presented a flag to the Tarata Hall commemorating the sacrifice of men from the district who served in the First World War. Mr Newton King made the official presentation at a function in the hall. [See Document below] The names of the soldiers who served were embroidered on the flag by Mrs E. J. Mackie although other men went to war later and their names were not included but are shown on the honours board in the hall.
The flag eventually disintegrated from age and the glass case which housed it was sold at the mart in Inglewood."
