White Cliffs Memorial, Pukearuhe

Roadside memorial to those killed during the raid on Pukearuhe settlement in February 1869. This memorial - unveiled on 18 July 2008 - was the initiative of a heritage group, SOS (Save our Sites). It was to replace the cairn to the Reverend John Whiteley (see  elsewhere on this Kete) on the nearby Pukearuhe pa which was demolished as part of Ngati Tama's Raupatu settlement in 2006.
