Ngaere Hall - 1886

The land for the Ngaere Hall was given by James Robson whose sawmill also supplied the timber.

It is sometimes thought the builder of the hall was Charles Score Sanders, who was then the owner of Ngaere Gardens.(Sanders later moved to New Plymouth where he established a house and garden, Dartmoor, in Westown.) However it was Charles' elder carpenter brother, Henry Score Sanders who did the building.

The hall opened with a grand ball on 4 February 1887.
