Eltham Town Hall

The ElthamTown Hall was designed by Hawera architect, John Duffill. Plans - ARC2004-627 - are held by Puke Ariki. The building by John Ryan and Sons was completed in six months for £3200. The hall opened in May 1911.

The integrity of the building was somewhat compromised by the later addition of a film projection box above the entrance balcony.

In the early 2000s a Project Control Group of Don Drabble, Peter Anderson, Alex Ballentyne, Karen Christian, Graham Ansley, Craig Stevenson, Clive Cullen and Bruce Petry superintended a major conservation and restoration of the building by Arthur Brown Construction.

The hall was officially re-opened with appropriate ceremony on 2 April 2003
