The fate of Clement Wiggin's memorial  is unknown. A caption to the photo above in the 1960s indicates that the obelisk was vandalised and it was removed. Why it was not re-erected elsewhere is unknown.

Wiggins is also commemorated on the Marsland Hill and St Mary's Cathedral memorials in New Plymouth and, as a former Christchurch resident, on the Christchurch and Sumner memorials as well. (see Web links below)
