This attractive bungalow was constructed for Thomas Peter Fahey in 1922.

A permit for the construction of the home was granted to Fahey by the New Plymouth Borough Council on 10 October 1922; A. H. Arnold was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £890.

The architects were very likely well known New Plymouth firm Messenger, Griffiths and Taylor, who advertised for tenders for the construction of a residence in Rawhiti Street in mid-August 1922.
