2017 View: By Hamish Crimp - The porch was added during recent renovations

This bungalow was originally constructed as the Te Henui Cemetery Sexton's Cottage. The building has recently (2017) been restored to a high standard by Eagers Funeral Services, who now occupy the building.

A permit was granted to the Borough Council on 24 March 1939 for the construction of a 'Sexton's Cottage' on Sections 8 & 9, Lemon & Watson Streets - A. E. Kretschmar was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £1068.
