This attractive bungalow was constructed for Mrs Lovell in 1922-23. The architects were well known New Plymouth firm Messenger, Griffiths and Taylor, and the plans for the home are held by Puke Ariki (see linked).

A permit for the home was granted by the Borough Council on December 12 1922, the builder is listed as "Haines", and the estimated construction cost was £1150.
