This large two-storied home in the English Cottage Style, was constructed in 1923 - the building was designed by New Plymouth firm Messenger, Griffiths and Taylor.

A permit for a residence for C. Robson on Town Sections 1715 and 1716 was issued by the Borough Council in September 1923 - the builder was listed as A. O. Brown, and the estimated construction cost was £1650.

The exterior of the home is in largely original condition, being clad in plain weatherboard with original windows. An addition to the NW side of the home is sympathetic to the original style.
