With its original sash windows this 1880s cottage/villa makes a pleasant addition to the city streetscape

94 Lemon Street 2017

2017 View: By Hamish Crimp

This cottage is thought to have been constructed between 1882 an 1887 for Henry Lacey. It can be seen in an Auckland Weekly News photograph from 25 June 1898 (see linked images).

The villa is currently clad in fibrolite/asbestos cement board - it is likely it was originally clad in either plain or rusticated weatherboard (probably underneath existing clading).

94 Lemon Street is the oldest in a row of three homes (including 92 and 96 Lemon Street) dating from the 1880s to the early-1900s with high streetscape value.
