Everybody's Theatre Auditorium
(later renamed the Mayfair Theatre)
1916
Thomas Bates' first job in New Plymouth was the supervising of Auckland architects, Grierson and Aimer's auditorium for Everybody's Theatre in 1916. Everybody's, commissioned by Taranaki Amusements Ltd, eventually became the Mayfair Theatre and Bates was then responsible for designing the present Devon Street facade and new entrance foyer in 1937.
