Ten computers have been made available to Puke Ariki by the APN and are located in the TRC (Taranaki Research Centre).
About the APN Homework Help Club
This is a weekly session to help children aged between 10 and 12 to use the APN to answer homework-related questions. It is a pilot programme offered during term 2, 2009 and has been initiated by Librarians at Puke Ariki to increase Digital Literacy among children in this age group.
Children will need to bring a homework-related question, that requires access to a computer. It could be about a topic they are studying or about computers in general. By exploring digital resources together, we hope to find the answers they require.
We encourage attendance by parents and caregivers so that they may learn alongside their children and assist when necessary. You may attend as many sessions as you like, for as long as you like. We are uncertain of demand at this stage and spaces will be filled on a "first come, first served" basis. We advise you to arrive early. Bookings are not required at this stage, but we will monitor this as the project progresses.
